Open days don’t have to be hosted at your company
Don’t limit yourself for your company’s open days
A company can decide to organise open days for several reasons, such as the launch of a new collection of products, the anniversary of a top product or of the company, to raise brand awareness, et cetera. Unfortunately, it’s possible that the event for your open days just isn’t suitable to be hosted in one of your stores or warehouses. For instance, it’s possible that your available rooms aren’t spacious enough for the number of guests you want to invite or the type of open days you want to organise, or maybe you want to host it with several companies and would like neutral terrain to avoid favouring one. Whatever reason you have, this means you need an external location for your event.
How does one start to look for a venue perfect for open days? First and foremost, you need to know what you’re looking for in a venue, because if you don’t know, the venue might experience difficulties trying to decide whether your event fits within their location and to set up the right price for you. Possible questions you might want to find an answer to before taking up contact with a venue are: how big does it need to be, do you prefer a certain setting (daylight, outdoors, unique building, …), will you need multiple rooms, do they need to be specialised in open days, does it need to have fixed suppliers or not, in which region does it need to be located, how much budget do you have available for the location, will you need a parking area or does it need to be easily accessible by public transportation, … Answering all those questions will take up time, but will need to be answered somewhere down the road anyway. Answering them before searching for your ideal venue might save you time communicating these details to the venue one by one and avoid miscommunication later down the road, through which you would lose precious time that could have been spend on actually preparing your open days.
After you’ve determined how you want your open days to look like, the real search can commence. Most venues have their own website where you can already see if they fit your criteria. A regular search on a search engine can also give great results. You could also search for networks of venues who pass your request on to similar ones, saving you some time on the net. There are many venues who would gladly open their doors for your open days, like Wild Gallery for instance, it’s just a matter of finding them!
